Bottled Water Case: 6,000 BPH PET Bottle Water Line in Tashkent, Uzbekistan

As Central Asian retail modernizes, branded bottled water is in growing demand across Uzbekistan. Producers moving to automatic PET lines gain the capacity and presentation needed to win space in supermarkets and convenience chains.

This case study documents a 6,000 BPH automatic PET bottled water line that zoolinked mechanical designed, manufactured and commissioned for a beverage producer in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

ScopeTurnkey: design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, training

1. Project Background & Client Requirements

The producer wanted to launch a branded bottled water for regional retail, replacing a slow semi-manual process that limited both output and presentation.

The client needed hygienic, high-speed bottling with consistent fills and professional labeling to compete on modern shelves.

The client set several clear requirements for the project:

  • High-speed hygienic bottling of 500 ml and 1 L PET bottles
  • Consistent fill levels and reliable capping
  • Automatic labeling for professional retail presentation
  • Stable purified water meeting drinking water standards
  • Target output of around 6,000 bottles per hour

2. Raw Water Analysis

Our engineers reviewed the municipal water report, which showed variable hardness and chlorine typical of the region:

  • Chlorine: present → activated carbon filtration
  • Hardness: variable → softening + RO
  • TDS: moderate → multi-stage RO for stable low-TDS water
  • Microbial safety: UV + ozone dual disinfection

3. Turnkey Solution & Process Flow

zoolinked mechanical supplied a complete automatic bottled water line. The full process flow is:

  1. Municipal water tank → feed pump
  2. Multi-media (sand) filter — removes suspended solids
  3. Activated carbon filter — removes chlorine and odor
  4. Water softener + 5 µm security filter
  5. Multi-stage reverse osmosis (RO) — stable low-TDS water
  6. Purified water storage tank (SUS304)
  7. UV + ozone disinfection
  8. Automatic PET bottle blow molding machine
  9. 3-in-1 rinsing, filling & capping monobloc — 6,000 BPH
  10. Automatic labeling → coding → shrink-film packing

4. Equipment Configuration

The line was configured for high-speed, hygienic and consistent output:

EquipmentSpecification / Function
Water treatment trainSand + carbon, softening, RO
UV + ozone disinfectionDual sterilization
PET blow molding machineForms preforms into bottles
3-in-1 monoblocRinse-fill-cap, 6,000 BPH
Labeling machineOPP hot-melt / self-adhesive
Coding & packingCoder + shrink-film packer

5. Installation & Commissioning

After factory testing, the line was installed in the 260 m² facility. Installation and commissioning took about three weeks, including:

  • Layout and connection of the treatment and RO system
  • Installing the blow molding machine and 3-in-1 monobloc
  • Integrating labeling, coding and shrink-film packing
  • Trial runs with fill-level and cap-torque checks
  • Water testing to confirm drinking water compliance

6. Operator Training

The client’s operators were trained on:

  • Start-up, shutdown and CIP cleaning
  • Operating the blow molding machine and bottle parameters
  • Monitoring RO and changing filters
  • Label/coder setup and routine maintenance

7. Results & Return on Investment

The automatic line lifted both capacity and presentation:

  • Output rose sharply versus the previous semi-manual process
  • Fill accuracy and cap quality improved
  • Professional labeling supported entry into retail chains
  • Labor per bottle fell, improving margins

With retail-ready product and higher capacity, the client expanded distribution regionally and recovered its investment through increased sales.

Conclusion

This Tashkent project shows how an automatic PET bottled water line unlocks capacity and market access in Central Asia. From water treatment and blow molding through filling, labeling and packing, zoolinked mechanical delivered an integrated turnkey solution.
